Collections & Receivables
Collections & Receivables
Collections in Tabs automates accounts receivable — tracking outstanding invoices, sending follow-up reminders, and giving finance teams real-time visibility into what customers owe.
Monitoring receivables
Tabs provides complete visibility into the status of every receivable:
- Monitor incoming payments and outstanding balances in real time
- Identify overdue invoices and trigger escalation workflows
- Ensure payments are matched to the correct invoices without manual reconciliation
The collections view shows invoice workflow stages — Sent, Pending, Overdue, and Paid — so your team can prioritize follow-ups and reduce days sales outstanding (DSO).
Automated follow-ups
Tabs keeps customers on track with their payment obligations:
- Automated dunning — send follow-up reminders based on predefined sequences when invoices go overdue
- Kanban-style tracking — instantly see which invoices need attention across your customer base
Custom reminder cadences and tailored messaging per customer are supported in the product roadmap. Contact your Customer Success Manager for current dunning configuration options.
For aging buckets and days-to-pay analysis, see Receivables Reports.
Collections Agent
The Collections Agent processes customer replies to invoice-related emails. When a customer responds to an invoice, dunning email, or collections reminder, the agent:
- Analyzes the email content
- Queries Tabs for relevant context — customer info, invoice status, contracts, payment history
- Proposes a plan of actions for your review or auto-executes based on your policy settings
Access inbound emails at Invoicing → Inbound Emails. Emails only appear when a customer replies to a system-generated email thread — the agent cannot process unrelated inbound mail.
Agent workflow statuses
Available actions
The agent can propose plans that include:
Plans are all-or-nothing — clicking Execute runs the entire plan; clicking Reject discards it. If multiple emails arrive for the same invoice thread, plans roll up into a single pending plan per thread.
