# Set Up Tabs Pay

Tabs Pay lets you accept card and ACH payments and receive payouts without connecting an outside payment processor. Once you're set up, Tabs handles collection, reconciliation, and payouts in one place, so there's no separate processor login or dashboard to maintain.

Setup takes four steps and happens in the Tabs app rather than through the API. The in-app portion takes under an hour to complete on average, and the verification review that follows takes a day or two through Adyen, our processing partner.

## Before you begin

Your Implementation Manager or CSM enables Tabs Pay for your account so it's accessible on your Integrations page.

The verification portion asks about your business, the people who own and control it, and the bank account you want to be paid into, so it helps to have your registration details and a government-issued ID for each owner on hand. Only an account holder—someone authorized to provide ownership details for the business—can complete it.

## Step 1: Migrate your payment methods

If you're moving from another payment processor, start here. Transferring your customers' saved cards and bank accounts can take several weeks, since both processors complete security reviews before any data moves, so it's worth beginning well ahead of everything else. Your Implementation Manager or CSM can help get it underway.

The transfer runs in the background while you work through the rest of setup, and your current processor keeps charging customers until your verification is approved. For the full process, see [Migrate payment methods](/collect-payments/tabs-pay/migrate-payment-methods). If Tabs Pay is your first payment processor, start at Step 2.

## Step 2: Add company information

Open the **Tabs Pay** tile on your Integrations page and fill in the **Company information** card. Along with the basics about your business, you'll choose a statement descriptor—the name your customers see on their card and bank statements. Submitting the form creates your processing account and the balance account that holds your funds.

## Step 3: Complete business verification

Select **Begin KYC** on the **Business verification** card and Tabs hands you off to a secure hosted form owned by Adyen that covers your business details, the people behind it, your bank account, and the services agreement. Your progress saves as you go, so you can stop and pick it up later.

The part worth planning for is naming people. You'll need anyone who owns 25% or more of the business, at least one person who exercises real control over it, and at least one officer who can sign on the company's behalf. You can send each of them a link to complete their own section, and they don't need Tabs accounts. Review usually takes one to two business days.

## Step 4: Set up payouts

Once you submit verification, the **Payout management** card unlocks. You'll choose which of your verified bank accounts receives payouts, set the descriptor that identifies them on your bank statement, and sign an ACH debit authorization.

## Track your progress

Each card shows its own status, so you can see where things stand at a glance. You'll move from **In progress** to **In review** when you submit, and to **Approved** once verification clears. If something is missing, the card shows **Action needed** and the hosted form lists what's outstanding.

## Confirm Tabs Pay is live

Once your status reads **Approved**, the verification step is complete. Work with your Tabs contact to ensure customer payment methods are migrated, conduct a test payment if desired, and choose a cutover date to start processing payments through Tabs Pay.
